Throughout my university degree, Product Design BSc (Hons), I gravitated towards Human-Centred Design and the user’s experience. I learned how to take key insights from user research and apply evidence-based decision making to create products that help the user.
My final year project looked at those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It highlighted how fragile our relationship with emotion is and how it effects all our decisions. It taught me how to work closely with the user group to curate a positive experience and also spurred a desire to continue this work and bring meaning to other user groups in future projects.
Besides university, I have worked on freelance independent projects with clients such as The Piano Shop Bath, where I have seen my products go from concept to completion. The combination of academic and freelance projects that I have worked on over the last four years has required attaining skills across a range of digital design software and user-centred research and design methods which I look forward to developing and adding to.
